Experiencing Waifu Expo 2023

A week after this epic event, I am still elated to have attended this brand-new convention.  Founded by Juliette Michele (Bishoujo Mom), WAIFU EXPO, an 18+ ecchi-con, lured its subservient attendees with promises of a Burlesque, live body painting, shabari, maid café, cosplay contest and pageant, raves, dances, panels, artist street and tattoos. Those promises were met PLUS more. Upon entrance, the towering hotel captivates you with its luxury. Catacorner from the entrance, is the alluring aura of a fully wrapped “waifu-style” car (presented as signature by Senpai Squad) gives you the clue of what you should expect from the convention going forward. As we venture into the hotel, you must navigate toward the down escalator where the ecchi paradise begins.

What is WAIFUEXPO? Waifu Expo is an 18+ lewd anime convention. Think of Fetish Con or Exxotica meets geek. Most of the con’s featured guest were adult content creators, TV-MA voice actors, or those who are a bit too “sexy” for standard family friendly cosplay fun. In the past, we have had discrepancies for dress code violations, kinks being presented in common areas of age-friendly cons and the big red flag of one con goer who was soliciting spitting in the mouths of thirsty men. Fortunately for the common kinkster, this is the convention for you! This will definitely be a convention where you’ll be able to see more than a little mystery of your favorite hot girl/guy.

From succubi to Jesus Christ (seriously), you’re greeted by a host of cosplayers ready to indulge in the lustful fan service the crowd came for. The purple and pink color scheme enchant you with the exquisite color of femininity, dark feminine-Lilith energy, and those cloudy sensations of other worldliness. We have in the back of the main entrance a full photobooth set up as to aid in models, cosplayers, and creators’ portfolio upgrades. All around was bodacious boobage bouncing with galore and rotund rumps ricocheting from wall to wall. The mischievous “perverts”,used endearingly in this context, all flock to the beautiful waifu goddesses to bask in the utter ethereal ambiance.

In one corner you have “pathetic men” begging to be stepped on by the giantess waifus while in another corner you have an attendee being spanked by his favorite maid waifu. The harping, hooting, and hollering is booming from patrons as they indulge in the lustful debauchery. The attendees wait in line for a chance to center in on main stage. Once inside the auditorium, you are semi-circled around the stage that hones a stripper pole. Our succubi hosts (Juliette Michele and KayBear) introduce our contestants for the cosplay crafters contest with coinciding cosplay pageant. At the behest of the angelic yet tempting voices of our host, we are introduced to the phenomenal cast of contestants ranging from our favorite savior of the day, No. 5 hero Mirko to Arcane’s Ekko.

Once the contest ensemble was completed, I was able to step backstage to get a closer look of our contestants. Learning how the contestants channeled the mannerism, the times spent to create the multitude of masterpieces and just overall surrealness of being able to participate in the show. I’ve attended a plethora of burlesque shows along with a few cosplay contest and the creativity is unmatched. The cosplayers have to not only stay within the means of the actual character at hand but include a licentious appeal to enthrall the audience. The appeal of the cosplayers gave warmth to my convincing compelling limbs. Heading into “Heaven’s gate” we are led to a hallway to that hosted panel programming. A mix of discussion pieces, dissections of hentai and creator p*rn videos; and just himbo association festivities were infused in the common con trope of the nondeodorant smells and boastful cheers from the attendees.  The vitality of the crowd warranted an energy surge. With so much momentum, of course blood, sweat and tears would pour from the bodies of the attendees.

In the middle of the convention, a gymnasium sized room was filled with various vendors to conglomerate the artist alley. The popular and well sought after waifu creators and voice actors had their own personal booths. Our waifu creators had a menu list of items and services for sale, from selfies with them to squeezing their patrons’ appendages. Who wouldn’t want to get fondled by their favorite model or in turn get to grope them in reciprocation? Around artist alley, you could purchase a multitude of things from stickers, portraits, car mods and even molds of body parts. All in all, the patrons were able to shop till they dropped with the abundance of merch offerings.

On the opening night of WAIFUEXPO, we were invited to the VIP- backstage section with DJ Taylor Senpai. With the rotation starting with Lil Uzi Vert’s x Just Wanna Rock, the crowd started pumping up. The mix varied from 2000’s rock, to trendy hip-hop dance grooves and tik-tok sing-a-longs. The guest of honors took turns shaking a tail feather, flipping upside down on the pole and sensually gyrating for the crowd to lose their minds. It appeared that we became a family as YuYu Hakusho’s x Smile Bomb blasted through the speakers. I believe one day we should come up with a line dance.

Ultimately, I had a wonderful experience at this first ever con. I was able to show my more lewd side when it comes to cosplaying, experience likeminded creatives and enthusiast; I believe the rants and raves are tame in comparison of the praise that is deserved. I’m absolutely sure this won’t be the last time we hear of THE great WAIFU EXPO.
