Hello OFF BLXXK Mag! This is Tiana. We're here with Bishoujo, this is her first-time con. We are going to ask her a few questions just about it. So how do you feel about having your first time successful con ever?  

It's so like, surreal, like I'm so thankful and happy. Like I, I, it's really like my staff has been amazing. Like I would not have been able to do it without them. And also like my lovely friends have come as guests, like I'm just so happy. They're like a big party. I’m happy everyone is hear, so yeah, .  

Okay. And then now again. I know the hotel was a little crazy with us and  

Yeah. Yeah.  

You know. And how do you feel about having like an 18 and up pervy type of situation going on, and how do you navigate that? 

So, the big thing that I, um, wanted with this convention I wanted like real security, I wanted security on top of things. Cause the only other 18-plus con I've ever gone to has like one security guard and there were so many girls getting harassed and groped and we wanted to cut that. Like we can't always like, you know, we can't always stop every single thing, but we can make sure if it happens, they're immediately kicked out and we've gotten police involved like all the instances so far have not been that bad, but we've had to remove people. And my security team, we have about, um, I think like twelve people total, and two, armed guards. So we've had like a pretty like heavy security team and thankfully the hotel had good communication with extra security guards, if we needed to get that far into it. But honestly, yeah, I, I'd say that like, I know like a perv convention is kind of like oh how are people gonna act there, but for the most part people have been very respectful. People have been asking oh is it okay if I touch you, is okay if I do that.. you know. I like that. That's, it's kind of been a pretty comforting community, at least from what I know, yeah. 

No problem. Will we be having a second con?  

I think we will be. I think we will.  

Now. One final question. Who was your favorite character to cosplay?  

I think Morrigan. Honestly, I'm doing her main version today. Cause we had different theme days. Um, Friday was like monster girl day, so I was doing the mascot. Yesterday was bunny day except my outfit kind of fell apart, so I was just another little succubus like I was like awww. Um, but today was maid day, so I am a maid. We're also gonna clean up after this, so I'll just be a little maid cleaning up. So yeah, I think Morrigan’s like my all-time wifey or whatever.

Hello OFF BLXXK magazine, I'm here with DJ Taylor Senpai. The great, the great, the fucking great.  

Stop, I’m just okay.  

No, he's the great. So, I was gonna ask him a few questions. Um, first and foremost, what inspired you to be the great DJ that you are?  

I just love music in general and I like to make people happy when I play certain songs.  And I like to be creative with music and to transition to different sounds of genres, whether it's hip-hop or dancehall or soca or if it's in the top forty music. So, what I like to do is like have a place where everybody comes together and joins themselves among others. So, DJs inspired me to help me bring out something that makes people happy.  You know, in these days we have people that are going through some losses, some sadness, but I wanna bring joy. And when it comes to my, every time I touch the controller or I touch the laptop, I know what songs that I like to play. Like this is going to pop, it's going to rock, it's gonna make you move something. I'm in a kitchen whipping and I'm like, Ooh, I found a song right there. And I'm just like, Ooh, I got a mixture right there. Easy.  

Yes. That's great to hear. Oh, and as a black DJ in prominent spaces such as Waifu Expo, such as Dream Con, such as AWA. How do you feel about navigating these spaces?  

Oh, I love it because in the beginning, like when I used to go to the raves at cons, you know, I love my edm, I love dub steps, everything, but I needed music that represents our culture. So, we always go for the swag surfers, the back that ass up by juvenile, from the ninety-nines to the 2000s. And not only that, like as far as business, I want to have a space where they can see how we operate, how we have fun, not like it is always those stereotypes of we being too rowdy or nah nah and whatnot. We just here to have fun and enjoyment just like everybody else. It's just a different, different perspective of music vibes. So, what I like about in, in the industry now, they now seeing how I can operate through playing certain songs from open formats to hip-hop.  They like, oh, I didn't know you could actually transition into this. So what I'd like to do in, in this business, they reach out more for me. Then they see I could. [00:02:00] I can tell, I can read, read the room, or I can read the crowd and very well and very amazingly. And then by the end of the day, I'm just happy to see that people come, come to me, says, yo, that was amazing. I want to introduce you to more cons and opportunities. So, I get emails now. I got a booking management team, so anything is coming together now. And I got an LLC license, so it's coming all together. So business is doing so well.  

We business for real!  

Like we outside man, we a success.  

Okay. And one final question before I let you go cause I know you're very busy.  Which anime has the best music? Like intros, outros, openings, endings who number one?  

So I'm a, I'm a nineties baby, so I, I can't help it, but I have to go with my all-time favorite anime. And my favorite song intro is Smile Bomb in Yu Yu Hashuko. Cause the opening song, it is like, you hear this like this guitar and the lyrics and you just feel like, oh my God, this is like, I'm in the seventies. Even though this is a nineties anime you know what I'm saying? And the lyrics is still so inspiring. So it's like, thank you for waking me up and like, cuz I'm being around with people I never met before and it just gives you the movement, the dancing gives me that Michael Jackson, Prince vibes. So that’s one of my favorites. And my second anime opening song, well this is an ending because I like um, the song from Attack on Titan. So, it's like a classic chill metal-ly rock. Cause, I'm a different person that like different types of music, but number one favorite is the smile bomb. Always gonna be top favorite.

Hello! I’m Kay Bear.  

I'm gonna ask her a few questions. Um, so how do you feel about being a black lewd cosplayer in this type of environment?  

Honestly? I feel great. So far, at first it was a little scary for me, cause I feel like there weren’t a lot of black cosplayers to begin with and there weren't a lot of black lewd cosplayers to begin with. So, I was like, ok, do I put myself out there like that? Like I need more support, you know, from my community cause no one was really doing it.  And I'm like, now since it's been a few years it's like, it's just the best thing I don't have any qualms, I just, you're not gonna catch me wearing clothes. 

Is this your first-time hosting?  

Um, not my first-time hosting, um, but my first time in the last three years. So it feels like the first time.  

So, you happy to be back into it? 

Yes. I used to go to a lot of cons in 2017, 18, 19 but then of course COVID happened so. I'm getting back into it, and I'm stoked.  

Will you come back and host again?  

You know, I really want to if the lovely Juliet will have me. I think she said she will, so I’ll be back. Yes.  

And my last and final question, what is your favorite character to cosplay? You could cosplay over and over again.  

I have done too many to count but I think I really like Domino. I have my calendar over there. She is probably my favorite and I really like these two. Yoruichi and Nico.
